Cannot open any folders or programs

Hi,

My computer currently cannot access anything but files on my desktop and google chrome. All folders, recycle bin, control panel etc. fail to work when i click it as the 'class is not registered'. Also, the wininet.dll is not found, so that causes all web-based programs to close down.

I havae tried running svc scannow but it does not seem to work, and i have rebooted the computer 5 times. I do not have the restoration CD, so I was wondering if there is any other solution.

Hi kyoquadon,

Firstly, I'm really sorry you're having such severe trouble with your PC. In order for me to help you further, please would you tell me which operating system you are using?

Judging from what you say in this first post, it sounds like your problem extends further than just file types that aren't registered with Windows. It's possible that your operating system needs a full re-installation.

But don't panic just yet - please get back to me with the version of your operating system, and I'll see what I can do for you! Smile
